About Boring Tools

Boring Tools is a collection of focused utilities for files, media, text, and developer data. We build tools that solve one routine task at a time without requiring an account or a server-side conversion queue.

Why we built it

Simple file tasks should not require sending a private document to an unknown server. Boring Tools gives people a direct browser workflow with clear inputs, outputs, limitations, and no artificial waiting step. The service is maintained by CodeCraft Co., Ltd.

How local processing works

Tool inputs are processed in browser memory on your device and are not uploaded to Boring Tools. Some pages download application libraries from content delivery networks, and the site uses privacy-conscious traffic analytics, so ordinary network requests can still occur. File contents are not included in those analytics requests. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How tools are produced and checked

Each utility is designed around a specific user task, implemented with browser APIs or established client-side libraries, and checked for usable output, responsive layout, keyboard-accessible controls, descriptive metadata, canonical URLs, and internal links. We document browser and file-format limits instead of claiming that every possible file will work.

Accuracy and limitations

Browser support, available memory, codecs, fonts, encrypted documents, malformed data, and unusually large files can affect results. Generated files should be opened and verified before the source is deleted or used in an important workflow. Developer decoders and checksum tools explain data but do not establish authenticity on their own.

Ownership and responsible use

Only process material you own or are authorised to use. Boring Tools does not download protected streams or bypass access controls. Copyright notices are handled under our Copyright & DMCA policy.
